Shawn Kumar is a high-energy vocalist and frontman who turns every show into a party. Fueled by big rock and pop anthems from Bon Jovi, U2, and the Killers, Shawn commands a room, working the crowd, trading verses with his band, and turning bar-goers into a full-on singalong by the second song.

Shawn found his stage late but never looked back. Always drawn to singing, he spent years chasing the sound in private. A breakthrough performance at Geneva’s Got Talent, belting Drops of Jupiter for a crowd of 500, flipped a switch, and he hasn’t stopped performing since.

These days Shawn plays clubs and venues across the Chicago suburbs most weekends, tearing through packed sets at bars, wineries, and private events. He’s writing original music alongside the covers and building toward bigger stages, with his sights set on a run from local haunts to national tours.

Philanthropy is Shawn’s major drive with music. His family has always donated a portion of their proceeds from music to a charitable cause. These efforts started with his grandfather, a professional singer in India, back in the 1960s. He currently has a foundation to help the blind, as he suffered from a lost eye. Shawn’s father continued his mission by starting a battered woman’s shelter in Orissa, India, along with many other efforts to provide medical care and education to those in need. Shawn is very driven to continue these endeavors and to use music as a vehicle to promote goodwill throughout the world.
